Team

Woozle's B2C Research team is made up of Equity Research Analysts that write ongoing monthly and quarterly research reports on companies with business-to-consumer (B2C) sales and operating models. Each analyst covers up to 15-companies within a sector vertical across industries such as food retail, luxury goods, fashion retail, DIY and home improvement, travel, leisure, and restaurants and many more sectors are being added every quarter.

Woozle's B2C Research team works exclusively with institutional investors that invest in publicly listed companies and our clients include many of the world's largest hedge funds and mutual fund managers. Clients commission us to complete interviews and surveys with key company stakeholders such as clients, customers, distributors, suppliers, and industry experts to help them get a more leading, accurate, and unique insight into how a company is performing so that they can make a more informed investment decision.

Equity Analysts on our B2C Research team are responsible for designing questions, briefing a team of primary research telephone interviewers, and reviewing and approving hundreds of completed surveys every month to help them write investment research reports on companies in their coverage universe. Our Primary Research team completes several thousand surveys every month so Equity Analysts in our B2C Research team can expect to spend a lot of time reviewing, approving, and analysing surveys and then using the insights to help write compelling investment research recommendations for clients.

Role

We are looking to recruit an Equity Analyst to our B2C Research team in London as we expand our coverage to help capitalise on strong growth across both our research offering and client base. Your primary responsibility will be to design questions, brief a team of primary research callers, review and approve survey results, and then use the collected insights to produce written investment research reports for public equity investors.

In order to do this, you will be required to have a deep and thorough understanding of the fundamental factors that drive investment returns across your sector in order to write high-level research that is able to add value and provide an informational edge to some of the world's largest public equity investors.

You will not have to interview or call any industry sources yourself as this is handled by our team of primary research analysts however you may have to spend considerable time briefing, explaining, reviewing, approving, and analysing survey results to help ensure that our written channel check research reports add significant value to clients.

As part of the role, you will spend a large amount of time writing research, building operating models, briefing colleagues, and talking to clients about business and commercial trends in the sector you cover. You will quickly develop a deep and solid understanding of the companies and sectors that you cover and will be able to communicate your insights effectively to some of the largest institutional investors in the world.

A newly hired Equity Research Analyst in our B2C Research Team will be responsible for:

  • Writing monthly and quarterly investment research reports on c.15 tickers within a sector.

  • Conduct deep fundamental research into companies under coverage.

  • Review, approve, and analyse hundreds of surveys every month.

  • Collating, organising, and analysing qualitative/quantitative information.

  • Writing equity research reports and presenting findings comprehensively.

  • Updating and keeping track of news flow on specific companies including earnings releases as well as industry inflexion points.

  • Answering client queries on data via email, over the phone or in person.

  • Suggest updates to survey questionnaires based on company and industry news and developments.

  • Identify and research new companies to cover.

  • Cultivate a new business development pipeline to grow client coverage.

  • Pitch innovative new product offerings to our clients.

Requirements

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.

  • A passion for Equity analysis and the stock market.

  • Competency at report writing including presentation, formatting, editing, producing charts and graphics.

  • An excellent eye for detail, quality and consistency to ensure the highest possible professional standards for reports.

  • A proven track record in managing and completing multiple projects to tight deadlines whilst still maintaining a high level of quality.

  • Be driven and ambitious with the motivation to take on additional responsibilities should the opportunity arise.

  • 1-3 years experience in investment banking (Equity Research, M&A), asset management or consulting firms is required.

Benefits

£34k-£40k salary + uncapped profit-sharing annual bonus plan expected to be between 20% and 40% of base subject to individual and company performance. Woozle also offers payment towards relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CFA). Woozle promotes flexible working with the ability to work remotely 2 days a week.
